How to Choose a Bounce House

You’ve picked your theme, the guest list is set, and you’re almost done shopping for decorations – but something is missing from the upcoming party: an inflatable bounce house.

No matter what party theme you’re going with, a bounce house is always a good idea. But how do you know which bounce house is right for your party? We’ve got your answers.

How to choose a themed bounce house

The first point to consider when choosing a bounce house is the theme of your party. Are you throwing a character-themed party? Get a bounce house that showcases that character. Decided on a car-themed party? Surprise guests with a race car shaped inflatable. No matter the party theme, there’s a bounce house for you.

Are you looking for a standard inflatable bounce house? Or one that has extra features? Depending on the theme and size of your party, you may want to consider adding special features to your bounce house.

For example, there are combination inflatables that will add that little something extra to your party. Features like slides, ball pits, basketball hoops and more are all available for that additional ‘wow factor’.

What size bounce house do you need?

When considering the size of your inflatable bounce house to rent, consider the size of your guest list. For a more intimate party, consider a smaller one but for a larger bash, you’ll need a bigger bounce house.

But, make sure not to overcrowd an inflatable. Not only is it a safety issue, but it also puts a damper on the fun if the kids have to take turns jumping!

How many people the inflatable can accommodate is another factor to consider when choosing an inflatable bounce house. What is the maximum weight allowed? Most inflatable bounce houses are able to support between 200-500 pounds, but commercial bounce houses are able to support around 1,000 pounds.

Another factor to consider when choosing your perfect bounce house is the weather. If your party’s in the middle of summer, an inflatable can become too hot for kids. But, if the guest of honor is set on a bounce house, consider upgrading to a water slide inflatable to keep kids cool. It’s also vital to keep an eye on the wind, and make sure not to use the bounce house if it forecasted to be particularly gusty.
